Public
Speaking.
Fear of speaking
in public is so prevalent that even people that have never
had to do any public speaking can find themselves scared of
what may happen to them. That there is some anxiety is
quite natural, top public speakers included; they have just
learnt how to use it to their advantage. A modicum of
anxiety can be used to help with focus, concentration and
delivery. It is when the anxiety gets to a level that
prevents us from doing what we are capable of that it has
got out of hand. We have to look at why this anxiety has
risen the way it has.
Preparation is very important when we are building
confidence, the feeling that you have mastered the subject,
or become word perfect in the lines will be of great help.
It is also very important to rehearse thoroughly before any
actual performance. You should concentrate on speaking
slowly, clearly and deliberately and concentrate entirely
on what you are saying.
The is much that we can do with hypnotherapy to help people
feel more comfortable whilst speaking in public. It may be
that we need to deal with past events, look at negative
thought processes, build self esteem etc.
Self hypnosis can also be used to run through presentations
in the mind, addressing the audience without difficulty.
You can then give yourself suggestions that you will find
it increasingly easy to do this in real life without
nervousness, self-consciousness or apprehension.
