Dieting tends to lead to weight loss / gain cycles,
these can be quite unhealthy for the body and
frustrating for the mind. With hypnotherapy we prefer
to work toward establishing a healthy relationship
with food. That means developing the habit of eating
food that’s good for you in a quantity that’s
suitable for you. This combined with moderate
exercise will get you to your ideal weight.
We tend to have a few problems with this approach,
one is that eating has become a substitute for other
areas of our lives which may be lacking. Another
problem is in mini addictions to various food types.
Have you ever noticed how if you eat biscuits, sweets
or chocolate at a particular time of day, every day,
then after a while you become to depend on that
biscuit in order to feel good, or even normal? If you
don’t get it you feel that something is missing…
Hypnosis is very effective in weight loss as it can
remove the desire for snacking in between meals, it
can help you reduce portion sizes, it can increase
your desire to eat healthy food and reduce your
desire to eat unhealthy foods, it can help empower
you, show you that you have something to feel good
about and give you the motivation to take
responsibility for your life.
Sometimes over eating can be a cover up for deeper
emotional issues, we can check for this and, if
desired, these issues can be looked at first.
